Love these old time pics. It's nice that there is an included DVD with the pictures on it as well so that I can print them for use with some of the craft projects I have in mind. I'll use the book for reference and print the pictures for use.
It's hard to rate this book (or the similar book of women's photos). If you are looking for "new" antique photos not already published then you may be disappointed. Many of these photos are already published in another Dover book. This book in question (Old-Fashioned Children's Photos) contains the photos with no captions or dating information, making them even more useless for research. I did not use the CD-ROM, as I intend to return the book. Perhaps the info about the photos is on the CD.On the other hand, this book DOES contain a CD-ROM and that might make it useful for certain applications. It's not a total waste....it's just not what I thought I was buying.
I very much liked this book. The images are exactly what I was looking for. Some may need a little tweaking in lightroom or photoshop to make the blacks crisp. I planned to use these in some art projects and am very happy with what I see. I do wish that there was documentation on the year they were taken but if your just looking for some nice images... this is great!
