Love this book so much. DJ Shortee is very excellent to explain and teach step by step to understand DJing without teacher. Must have it for becoming DJ.
Great book. Clear and concise, which I appreciate. I was worried it wouldn't come with the DVD but it did and I'm excited to watch.
Spin Now is, hands down, THE best DJ instructional book for learning the beginner to intermediate DJ techniques. Way more than what I expected from a "handbook" - in fact I wouldn't even call it a handbook at all because it's so informative and comprehensive - yet it's still short enough that you can get through it rather quickly and learn easily without feeling overwhelmed. The lessons are very well written and organized and the DVD is also extremely helpful offering video versions of all the key lessons taught in the book. I dare say, the DVD alone is worth the purchase!!DJ Shortee really does teach you everything you need to know to get started and then some. At $11 this book/DVD set is actually under-priced for the quality of instruction that Shortee offers. She definitely covers everything from CDJs, turntables, and DJ mixers to DJ Software, DJ controllers and all the must-know DJ techniques to get you up and running fast.In regards to her teaching style, Shortee has a knack for taking intimidating, confusing topics and making them accessible and easy for anyone to understand. Her lessons are extremely thorough and packed with tons of information yet her easy-going personality keeps everything relatable and fun. She breaks everything down into simple step-by-step techniques that you can easily follow and put into action to take your skills to the next level!I have learned SO MUCH from this book and I'm finally able to hold my own on the decks and mix live!
